Welcome to my adventure travel

It’s been a dream of mine to start this blog, and I’m thrilled to finally share it with you. My passion for travel kicked off practically from birth—I ventured on my first international trip to Jamaica when I was just a few months old. Fast forward a bit, and I’ve now visited over 25 countries, and the list is still growing.

The spark that ignited my desire to create this blog came from my study abroad experience in Copenhagen, Denmark. There I got the chance to travel completely solo to neighboring countries for the first time! That journey was eye-opening, filled with exciting adventures, valuable lessons, and a lot of personal growth. While I’m not traveling full-time (yet!), I’m committed to making time for exploration, whether it’s a local discovery or an international journey, solo or with friends.

I hope my personal stories, photographs, and fashion tips will inspire you to dive deeper into what the world has to offer, along with the diverse people in it. This blog aims to be a welcoming space for women, especially Black women, and Black people who are looking for advice and inspiration for their next travel adventure. Given the unique challenges we may face due to our gender and/or race, it’s important to have a supportive community. So, let’s get ready for the next adventure together!

1. How can I afford to travel so often?

I have a full-time job (thankfully!). So, I save money towards a travel fund and plan far in advance. If you’re young and have no real income I recommend applying to study abroad or cultural exchange programs. Utilize programs like Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program for college students, or AFS Intercultural Programs if you’re in high school.

3. What’s the scariest thing you’ve experienced abroad?

In my early stages of solo travel I had this obsession with doing little to no research before arriving at a country out of fear that I’d spoil the surprise (very silly). I landed in Turkey around 2am with no visa, no cash, and no debit card (only credit cards). To make matters worse, I didn’t pre-arrange transport to my hotel. Let’s just say, I won’t be doing that again!

2. What’s your favorite country so far?

It’s really hard to choose just one. I’ve had so many unique experiences in various countries , but if I had to choose it would be Jamaica. I know not super unique but it feels like my second home.

4. What country is on your bucket list?

There’s a lot but If I had to choose one that feels the most out-of-reach (for now) is Madagascar. I’ve always been fascinated by the geographical and ethnic diversity there. When I go, I hope to spend at least two-weeks exploring the country and see the lemurs!
