I’ve never been to Brazil, but I can hear the songs of Samba calling my name. In this series, you’ll explore everything I would do if I could visit Brazil today!
My proposed 10-day itinerary will start in Brazil’s financial capital, São Paulo, and then transition to the slower, more tropical terrain of Trancoso. Having been born and raised in a large city, I’m drawn to the epicenter of any country. I enjoy the up beat tempo, easy access to various restaurants and bars, and the opportunity to meet many people. For these reasons, I believe São Paulo would be a fantastic first stop along this trip.
São Paulo appeals to me for its economic yet cultural significance in Brazil. The growing metropolis attracts ambitious entrepreneurs and ropes in a swirl of vibrant arts and music, ethnic diversity, and welcoming Paulistanos. Spending four days in São Paulo, focused on uncovering culinary kitchens, samba beats, and compelling artwork would be my primary mission.
Where to Stay
For lodging, I would choose Rosewood São Paulo. Situated in Bela Vista, 1.4 miles from downtown, this magnificent property spares no expense to show off São Paulo’s best. It uniquely blends local art, lush greenery, and natural woodwork through its design.
Starting at the emerald garden pool, which resembles a jungle paradise, with numerous green plants surrounding the pool, boho-chic decor, and decorated pool plaster that gives a warm, tropical feel.

The Porte Cochère features a driveway lined with columns of books and a cozy lounging area. This space feels very thoughtful – perfect for book lovers like myself.
After a long day of traveling, settling into Rosewood’s Grand Premier King room would be a delight. This spacious 667 sq. ft. room includes a King bed, a sitting area and a marvelous bathroom adorned with locally sourced white marble. While I can appreciate a gorgeous room, I live for a beautiful architectured bathroom. Mirrors line every angle, making it perfect for skincare and beauty prep. The striking white marble walls extend from floor to ceiling, creating a bright atmosphere.

The room features wood paneling from floor to ceiling, maintaining the urban yet jungle feel of the resort. I love the commitment to celebrating local art, with paintings on the wall and a decorative guitar hanging on the wall.
After exploring the beautiful architecture of the room, the next logical step is to explore the surrounding area for food and activities. Below are a few options I would consider.
Activities to do
- Museo de Arte de São Paulo (MASP)
Calling all of the art lovers! MASP, the first modern art museum in Brazil, showcases over 11,000 artworks including painting, sculptures, clothing, videos, and more. Tickets start at R$ 70 for adults, R$ 35 for students, and free for children under 10.
- Parque Ibirapuera
I love to do street photography and people watching and I think Parque Ibirapuera would be the perfect place to indulge. Like any other beautiful park, visitors can lounge, walk through and admire the natural beauty the park offers.
- Spazio vintage
I find true vintage gems whenever I shop internationally. I wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to indulge in vintage shopping at Spazio vintage. Maybe I could find some rare Jean Paul Gaultier!
- Brazilian Carnival Dance Class
Brazil, the home of Samba, I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to learn while visiting. I would definitely drag my family and friends with me to this walk-in Samba class where tickets start at $20.
