Where To Stay In Canggu, Bali
Updated September 2024
I started my 11-day solo trip to Bali in the epicenter of Canggu at Eastin Ashta Resort. Despite Bali offering a myriad of hotels, villas, and hostels, I’m glad I chose Eastin Ashta Resort because it did not disappoint. When selecting my accommodation, I focused on finding 24/7 front desk service, affordability, and a convenient location.
I landed in Bali around 11 p.m. local time, expecting to arrive at the resort after midnight. Eastin Ashta’s 24/7 front desk service allowed me to check-in hassle free, even at that hour. Before my trip, I arranged a private driver through the resort to meet me at the airport and safely transport me to the hotel. While ordering a cab through providers like Grab or Gojek would have been cheaper, I felt it would be better for my safety to arrange transportation through the resort.
During my stay, I spent 5 nights at Eastin Ashta resort in the Superior suite, which cost me IDR 760k ($50 usd) per night. The excellent value, friendly customer service, and proximity to the city center, made my stay enjoyable. I would definitely recommend Eastin Ashta to family and friends!
The Room
I stayed in the Superior suite, which features a king size bed. As someone who is nearly 6 feet tall, I found the bed to be perfect for my height, with enough room to share between two adults. The suite included air conditioning, a flat-screen tv, a safe, and a coffee maker. Also, a mini fridge that offered snacks and sodas available for purchase. The bathroom had a standing shower, hot water, blow dryer, two bathrobes, and toiletries.
The suite’s wide mirror, every woman’s dream, and sink basin were separate from the toilet and shower. The sink rested on a wide marble counter, offering plenty of space for makeup and skincare products.
The suite also had a balcony that overlooked the street nearby with views of neighboring homes and even a glimpse of the ocean on the horizon.
Lastly, the walls were decorated with colorful Balinese dragon wallpaper, bringing a touch of color and local culture to the room.
Dining
You won’t go hungry while staying at Eastin Ashta. The resort offers an all-day dining service for both guests and outside visitors.
For breakfast, you have the option of a buffet or an à la carte menu. Just steps away from the pool, an outdoor bar serves food and drinks as well. After a day of exploring waterfalls and rice fields, I returned to the pool bar for lunch and fresh coconut water. For dinner, I enjoyed a traditional meal, beef rendang, and ginger beer soda.
While I did explore food outside of the resort, I appreciated the ease of having fresh, tasty food and refreshing drinks on-site.
Good To Know
Canggu, considered the up-and-coming sister to Seminyak, is rapidly developing. During my stay in June of 2023, construction was ongoing at a villa directly next to the resort. The construction started around 9am and finished by sunset. Fortunately, the noise did not disrupt my sleep. However, if you’re looking for a quiet location during the day, Canggu may not be the best choice due to construction and the bustling of the city.
The resort has one outdoor pool, surrounded by various lounge chairs. The pool area never felt overcrowded, and I always found plenty of pool chairs available.
Lastly, this resort has an exterior corridor design. Common areas like the lobby and hallways are open-to-the-air, while the dining restaurant, private rooms, and restrooms are enclosed and air conditioned. Although this layout wasn’t a deal breaker for me, it can be tricky when it’s hot and humid outside.
Overall, Eastin Ashta Resort offered excellent value during my stay in Canggu. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and secure throughout my trip. The kind and helpful resort staff, combined with the convenient location, made this property a perfect choice near shops and attractions.
